Q1 - this is why a “style guide” for social media is so important. Just because it’s conversational, doesn’t necessarily align w/the brand
The personality of the person representing a brand should match the personality of the brand. Many times it’s an afterthought #socialmedia
It’s about trust, affinity & the ability to inspire action+measure it. Its why a personal brand needs a new ID for corp engmnt #socialmedia
Match or hire the person to represent the brand once you agree what the personality of the brand symbolizes. Don’t just jump in #socialmedia
Q1: I call this multiple personality order. I believe the corp brand and the personal brand must be distinct and also align #socialmedia
Join us? RT @Marc_Meyer @briansolis is today’s host at noon eastern #socialmedia topic is about separating personal and corp. brands.

Thanks @marc_meyer, Today’s topic: Aligning the Brand Personality with the Personality of the Individual Representing the Brand #socialmedia
1st question: Who do you trust more? How do you know when the brand is talking or when the person behind the brand is? #socialmedia
Businesses are concerned with your popularity. But you should be concerned with your followers equally. There is little overlap @socialmedia
Brands should hire you for your prowess and expertise, not your followers #socialmedia
Without a dedicated corp entity, your personal brand and persona will often shine (and help) the brand you represent #socialmedia
Whether its a job or vocation is up to you. This is why I suggest creating a 2nd acct 4 work+personal. Usually they r distinct #socialmedia
best buy’s job requirement was less about tapping your followers and more about proving your social aptitude. and experience #socialmedia
Q2: What happens when personal Brands become larger than the Brand they represent? How does that affect brand loyalty? #socialmedia
Q3: Do you engage in a relationship w/brands, based on the person or the brand essence? If that person leaves, do you leave 2? #socialmedia
Thank u for contributing to such a vibrant & important discussion. In SM we are measured by our actions & words #socialmedia
Brand perception is largely defined by the experience that the product/service delivers. Essence & engagement are contributors #socialmedia
